Turning Off Animated Graphics Like Those From Adobe Flash Player

Filed under: Uncategorized — ioconnor @ 2:44 pm

Is it even possible to turn off adobe flash player in Firefox? Sure is difficult if not impossible. The advertisers are taking advantage of this extensively. Each page seems to have a couple of animated flash adverts. Opening a few web pages, like my standard 10 or so, and leaving them running overnight causes my computer to become laggy.

Since probably 99.99% of the adobe flash player users are companies trying to pander their products it would be fantastic to turn adobe off. It is especially important now that Adobe has become the common element for hackers to attack. Viruses and trojans have a standardized platform to attack across operating system platforms. And yet Firefox makes it difficult if not impossible to turn it off.

Yet I don’t see anybody mentioning this topic in the news. Why is that?
