Code For M$ Haters

Filed under: Uncategorized — ioconnor @ 6:50 pm

Yeah, I’m a M$ hater. They make proprietary systems to make users choose them and only them. Earlier today I was thinking about their “register”. The registry is simply another tool in their aresenal to grief all of us end users. I knew it when they first introduced it and yet it still bothers me. Ok, so I should let it go.

However for those of you who do not tolerate M$ IE users browsing your web pages may I suggest the following code?

<body>
<!–[if IE]>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=”Javascript”>
window.location=”http://random.yahoo.com/bin/ryl/&#8221;;
</SCRIPT>
<![endif]–>

This effectively passes the undesirable to some random website. The undesirable will receive no warning messages, delays, or anything to clue them in they have been brushed off.  A most appropriate way of handling M$ IE users!

You can see a demonstration of this at http://ioconnor.atbhost.net/ms-brush-off.html
