“QuickBooks Online” only works on M$?!

Filed under: Uncategorized — ioconnor @ 1:03 am

I was hoping to remove my need of M$ to access QuickBooks and thought their online version, though limited, might be just the ticket. I started having worries as soon as their home landing page would not display correctly with FireFox and Opera. However it was confirmed when I got the following message:

System requirements:

To use QuickBooks Online, Simple Start Online, and Intuit Online Payroll, you need the following:
Windows Vista, XP, or 2000.
Internet Explorer for Windows, version 6 or later. If necessary, please download it here.

For our non-PC customers:
On a Mac, you can try products like Boot Camp (Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard) or Microsoft’s Virtual PC.
On an iPhone or BlackBerry, go to https://accounting.quickbooks.com/m (QuickBooks Online and Simple Start Online only).

Need help?

If you believe you’ve reached this page in error, please email:
serviceconsulting@quickbooks.com.

I am a bit offended by this stance and will actively look for a replacement.

  1. Hi Ivor,

I’m the PR Manager for QuickBooks Online. I wanted to let you know that we are working on making QuickBooks Online compatible with other browsers. We know that this is a key request from our customers. I hope that you’ll be able to stick with us.

    Best regards,
    Sharna
