Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 repair

Filed under: Uncategorized — ioconnor @ 9:19 pm

Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 repair. Each hour of Fujitsu’s time costs $250. Fujitsu charges a minimum of two hours plus parts. A scratched glass surface costs over $200. Instead of them charging maybe $40 for 5 minutes of their time and $5 for a piece of glass you will be charged a minimum of $700!  When you consider a new scanner costs $414 at amazon you got to wonder…

They say you must have your repairs done by them. And they force you to register your product. If you are not registered they will not talk with you. It’s the same thing with the software. They have no location where you can download it.

Finally listen to their supposed support number at 800-626-4686, option 2. Fujitsu needs to get their heads out of the dark ages.

  1. It might be worthwhile to find out the technical specifications of the glass. Not just the physical measurements, but the type of glass and the particular optical qualities that are unique to this glass, if any. With that knowledge you could just order a sheet of the same quality thin glass and with a glass cutter, make the replacement parts yourself.
